Doctoral Fellow
Sara Mansutti is a PhD student in Digital Humanities at University College Cork. She completed a master’s degree in Italian Philology and Literature at the University of Udine in 2017. Her thesis involved the transcription and analysis of a mid Sixteenth-century manuscript inventory of books, kept inside the Zornale of Francesco de Madiis at the Marciana Library. During her studies, she did an internship at the John Rylands Library of Manchester and one in the Manuscript Department of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin. Between 2017 and 2018, she worked at the Biblioteca Ariostea of Ferrara on a project concerning the Sixteenth-century editions of Ludovico Ariosto. She holds a diploma in Archival, Palaeographical and Diplomatic Studies from the State Archive of Trieste. As part of the EURONEWS Project, she focuses on the newsletters sent by Cosimo Bartoli, Florentine agent in Venice, to the Medici between 1562 and 1572. Her research explores the role of the handwritten newsletters within the diplomacy of the Medici Court and investigates the relationship between letters and newsletters.
